(World Talent Records)
www.wtrhq.com
Veteran guitarist Forrest McDonald is a native of Austin, Texas who is now based in Atlanta, Georgia. His career started some thirty-six years ago. Forrest has worked with the Muscle Shoals Rhythm Section, backing artists like Bobby Womack and Bob Seger. Powerful lead vocalist and keyboardist Raymond Victor has been playing with Forest for over twenty-seven years. Forrest McDonald's previous releases are the 1994 debut "I Need You", "On Fire" and "Under The Gun".
The self produced 1999 release, "Spirit Of The Blues" was recorded Prairie Sun Studios in Cotati, California. Along with McDonald and Victor the rest of the band are Diane Dutra (bass & vocals), "Cap" Capdeville (drums & vocals) and Dave Parnell (saxophone & vocals). This quintet of seasoned performers really sizzles.
"Spirit Of The Blues" contains thirteen gems. Some of them are "Anchor To A Drowning Man", "Texas", the boogie-woogie tune "Love Me In The Morning", "If You Love Me In The Morning", "Lazy Old Woman", "Whiskey" and "Rock This House". You will really enjoy the piano and guitar playing on this one. Check out his latest release "What's It Gonna Take?" it's sure to be great as well.
