Singer and guitarist Eugene `Hideaway' Bridges, who is the son of blues guitarist Hideaway Slim, was born in 1963. As a musician he explores all of his influences including the Blues, Soul and Gospel. Eugene Bridges spent time as the lead guitarist/vocalist for the Memphis Blues Caravan. His debut solo release was the 1998 "Born To Be Blue" (Blueside)
"Man Without A Home" was recorded at DB Studios in Stroud, England. Bridges and Michael Roach. The musicians are Robin Clayton (bass), Alan Savage (drums), Petar Zivkovic (piano) and Andrew Butler (keyboards). The Little Big Horns of Steve Trigg, Patsy Gamble and Andy Gilliams add brass to four tracks. Except for I'm Falling In Love" and Sam Cooke's "Movin' And A Groovin", all of the tunes are originals. Some are "I Used To Sing Love Songs", "Pay The Rent", "I'm Falling In Love", "I Found It", "Won't Be Your Fool" and "Always". The instrumental "Hideaway Slim" is a tribute to his father. Blues plus Soul sprinkled with Gospel equals Eugene Bridges, it's as simple as that.
