Larrie Cook and the Blues Masters
Here for a Good Time!
Independent
Larrie Cook and the Blues Masters are a familiar sight around South East Queensland, laying down some hip grooves and taking the blues to the masses. Here for a Good Time reflects the Blues Masters' philosophy of having fun while playing the blues and making sure the audience do too! Larrie Cook (vocals, guitar, sax and harmonica) is joined on this album by Shea `Hitman' Fitzgerald (drums), Dave `The Joker' Evans (bass), James `Fingers' Mather (keyboards) and Jeff `Blind Boy' Usher (keyboards).
Here for a Good Time features 12 strong, original tracks laced heavily with humour. The material ranges from the easy feel of Sweet Momma to the raucous fun of Dirty Robber featuring Larrie's tasty harp. I also enjoyed Hold on Me with James Mather on keys.
This album comes in at around 45 minutes and is another example of the excellent blues talent that we have here right under our nose.
